1st Stream Technology

For many years, this was the de-facto standard. You wanted a PBX system, so you went out and purchased a box which offered you PBX functionality. The vendor came and installed it at great expense and set it up for you by creating the required custom programming. And for a while, it served you well. Your calls came in and employees picked them up on their extensions.

But you outgrew that. You needed to add on new capabilities, which was usually provided by a different vendor. So you got another box which implements a different architecture and a different administrative interface. Professional programming services glued the boxes together, and you often lost critical functionality because they aren't able to share call information. Every time you need extra features, a new box was introduced into the system.

All those boxes – is there a better way?

2nd Stream Technology

You set aside your dependency on boxes and moved to a more scalable solution. Now, everything resides in one system and there's no need to keep adding boxes. If you need any changes, your vendor needs only to write scripts to handle it. A new employee with an extension? Add in a script and compile. Want some call routing? More scripts, more compiling, and hopefully the new script doesn't interfere with the old one.

This kind of system is heading in the right direction, but it's not quite there yet. While the system can be extended to meet your needs, your vendor has to spend hours creating, compiling, and testing the right scripts for what you want. And hopefully they don't make a mistake and impair critical functionality that you need. Regardless, their turnaround time is often measured in days.

Expandable, but time consuming, expensive, and prone to error – what next?

3rd Stream Technology

These days, you expect more. You can go online and pay your bills directly from your bank account. How hard could it be to add a new person to your phone system? If you've ever used a web browser, you've used third stream technology. All the features offered by your phone system are available to you directly on your computer.

Want to setup a new employee on an extension? A few clicks and you're done. Want your phone calls forwarded to your mobile phone when you're away from the office? How about having your voicemail sent to your home email address? No problem.

Third stream enables you to take control of your own phone system and go beyond the limits of older systems. Rearranging extensions for a department used to take weeks and cost your business thousands in consulting fees. Now, you can do it yourself in a few minutes.

Third stream offers the flexibility you want, the features you need, and the power to adapt to new technology.
